Strategic Planning Process for 7 communities within the State of Mississippi. Included researching the historical context of the cities, demographic and economic analysis and community engagement in order to identity strategic projects that would encourage economic and cultural growth.
Educational and Facilities Master Plan | Holmes County School District (2016- 2017)
Facilities Master Plan that evaluated 7 schools within the Holmes County School District in order to recommend best practices for maintenance, renovation and new construction. Current trends in 21st century learning, school performance ratings, and performance expectations were used to inform the built environment in the schools
Site Plan | Strongtower at Washington Park (2016)
Site Analysis and Planning for a triangular tract of land in inner city Montgomery. The site is to house a Church, school and sports facilities for the surrounding community.
The Amazing Sidewalk Plan | The Cooperative Community of New West Jackson (2016)
Site planning for a “Play-as-You-Go” project along 6 blocks of Clinton Avenue. Analyzed the ability to implement safe opportunities for children to play and learn on their walk home from the neighborhood elementary school.
Cotton Gin Plan | City of Yazoo City (2016)
Strategic plan for a mixed-use development on a brownfield cotton gin site. Evaluated the physical, demographic and cultural context of the City in order to identify projects that were a good fit for the community. Economic viability analysis, community partnership evaluation, and funding research were essential to the project.
Third Floor Upgrades for Coleman Library | Tougaloo College (2016)
Interior upgrades to the third floor of the Coleman Library. Included designing new classroom and office space in the open-floor plan, new carpet designs and furniture and equipment.
Campus Master Plan | Tougaloo College (2015-2016)
Facilities master plan for Tougaloo College. Involved analyzing current conditions, along with future academic and student services needs to provide a guideline for future growth. A maintenance, renovation and new construction schedule was developed along with a comprehensive budget.
Freedom Summer 50th Anniversary Conference | NAACP & Tougaloo College (2014)
Graphic design and facilities planning and management for the Freedom Summer 50th Anniversary Conference. Large scale memorials were designed to honor participants and those murdered in Mississippi during the Freedom Summer Project. Campus maps and signage was developed to organized conference logistics and to facilitate wayfinding for participants.
Facilities Master Plan | Hinds Community College (2012- 2014)
Facilities master plan for 6 campuses in the Hinds Community College system. The research and analysis of surrounding communities, campus demographics, the built environment and current and projected trends in enrollment, along with a campus usage analysis, revealed more sustainable ways for growth.
West Jackson Planning Process | Voice of Calvary Ministries and Community Partners (2012- 2014)
Community- initiated planning process for area just west of downtown Jackson. Focused on building community consensus through an aggressive community engagement process. Physical, demographic, cultural and historic contexts were researched and analyzed in order to produce a community guidebook of best practices to move forward.
